-------- OR --------

My creativity is driven by a passion for colour, shape and impression of momentum, which is why many describe my pottery as "quirky" or "funky", sometimes associating my artworks with the story of “Alice in Wonderland” and the “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party”.

Initially inspired by music and dancing, I explore the phenomenon of complimentary counterparts’ independence and unity by deliberate juxtaposition of geometrically stylised gendered vessels, often conceptualized in pairs.

I’ve been creating art ceramics and craft pottery full time since 1989 when I enrolled at the College of Applied Arts. I graduated with a ‘distinction’ mark in 1993, followed by a BA degree in art education in 2005 and an MA in 3D design/ceramics in 2007, however it took me another decade to develop a profoundly individual and recognisable style that represents my true self. I became a selected member of the Craft Potters Association in Great Britain in 2018.

I always believed in pure art form without a story – just like music that does not require understanding of the lyrics to appreciate it. Therefore, I cherish aesthetics of distinctive shapes, expressed in clean but complex geometric lines and proportions of golden ratio.

Today I continue my research work alongside taking creative risks in my beloved chosen medium of ceramics.
