Unfortunately most valuable examples of Ancient Roman pots are found smashed up, often with some key parts missing – as they’ve been buried for centuries in the soil.

Once restored they occupy most dedicated space in the research depositories with precisely controlled climate conditions, out of reach and sight, or – if we are lucky – in glass cabinets of the art history museums, unlike this little bowl which is ready for everyday use.
